Stranger Fiction - On planet

It is ironic that human beings, in the very age where they dispel of myths, superstition and religious condemnation, find themselves caught in an environmental trap that furthers them to repent and take upon them an Olympian responsibility to curb global warming and prevent too widespread effects of climate change.

Europe has an infinite capacity for spawning intellectuals, books and ideas that throws the rest of the world into turmoil and violent conflict.

America, yes, she has accomplishments, and she will likely have more. But there is one simple thing she will never understand: Humility. And for that reason she cannot ever fulfil her optimal potential. The fate of USA remain forever unfilfilled, even as an empire, for the moment the neo-liberal project has conquered the world, USA will be spent and her engine come to a halt.

The Arabs are the most compassionate, most passionate and most wonderfully sentimental of people today. The Middle East is the only place where they regularly print poetry in the papers.

Among the one million Native Americans left on planet Earth there is a belief that the ancient ones cursed the conquerors, and that the indigenous populations was left alive only so they may one day see the fall of their oppressors. "We will ride our horses through your dead cities", the saying goes. It's a thought so compelling that it almost makes you superstitious.

If there is a future for mankind, three things are certain: It will be technologically advanced, ecologically sustainable and humane.

I am not saying Gaia is the only conscious entity in the universe, but in our limited sphere, the planet may be the only one who is doing any thinking. Humans, our rational thoughts as well as our mythology, is likely products of a global heurism, just as we are members on the larger organism.

Man must betray nature, before he can betray himself.

Mankind lost his ecological innocence long ago. A virginity lost cannot be recovered. Any solution to the current problem of global warming will increase the artificiality of the environment we inhabit. It is not something to be mourned. It is just the reality of our circumstances.

The great nations and the continents are the fabled Titans, the new gods of our ages. We heard of how they were buried under the Earth, how Gaia sent Typhoon to haunt men and gods in the old world under Jove. We heard nothing of how they escaped, except we must suspect Prometheus had a hand in this as well.

Never trust a culture with no decent folk music and poetry readings. Finger paint saves lives.

USA is the country, where poor people have a very remote chance of becoming rich, and this is supposedly the reason it is better than all other countries, and we must tolerate its rampage on Earth.
